April 24, 1986 Mr. Abbott Supervisor of Inspection Department of Coi�anunity Development Decatur, Illinois 62521 Dear Mr. Abbott: The purpose of this letter is to propose to the City of Decatur that we move our Retail Propane Buainess to 2625 North Water Street. We are ask- ing for your consideration and approval to make this move as soon as it is reasonably possible. The site we have chosen was a former bulk lant which sold asoline and P g lubricating oils, etc. We believe this site is a good site for our business ' and yet our plant can be safely installed due to its ideal surroundings. To the north of us we have approximately 250-300 yards of open space between our plant and the neighboring buildings. To the east of us�open ground. I believe it is a construction company that uses that ground for storage of materials. To the south of the site there are railroad tracks and further west is a Marathon Bulk Plant. As you can see by the drawing, we will be 150' back from our west property line, which is North Water Street. We have done businesa in the Decatur area for several decades and we have enjoyed the business climate of your community. We hope to do business in Decatur for several years to come. I have already spoken with your Fire Prevention Officer to get his opinion on fire safety and if this site could be adequately protected. He was affirma- tive in his remarks and said this site was far superior to where we are con- ducting our business presently. I am delivering this letter to your personally so as to expedite the ap- proval process. Naturally, I will submit the plans for the proposed instal- lation to the State Fire Marshall's Office.
