� �. <br /> 9-2 . 1. An employee in the fire service who uses sick <br /> leave credit while absenting himself from the job due to illness , <br /> injury or off-the-job incurred disability for one working day or <br /> any part thereof or two or more consecutive scheduled working <br /> days discounting any intervening earned or scheduled days off <br /> shall be entitled to full pay for each of such days or parts <br />' thereof only for the first three times durin the fiscal ear <br /> J Y <br /> that such employee so absents himself; beginning the fourth time <br /> that such employee so absents himself from the job, and on all <br /> similar occasions until the end of the fiscal year, the employee <br /> shall be entitled to only one-half days pay for the first day of <br /> such absence, or payment for only half of the time absent if less <br /> than one full day regardless of whether only one working day or <br /> part thereof or two or more consecutive scheduled working days <br /> discounting any intervening earned or scheduled days off are <br /> missed, and only one-half as much sick leave credit shall be <br /> deducted from such employees ' sick leave accumulation as would <br /> otherwise be deducted for such first day or part thereof; <br /> provided that , an employee shall be entitled to full pay for all <br /> time absent from the job due to illness, injury or off-the-job <br /> incurred disability if such employee provides the City with a <br /> physician' s statement that such employee was injured, ill or <br /> otherwise physically disabled on the date in question and if such <br /> employee has sufficient sick leave credit accumulated to cover <br /> such an absence and uses the same. <br /> 11-1 . In the case of injury, illness or disability '� <br /> arising out of and in the course of employment with the City, the <br /> City will pay the difference between such employee ' s regular <br /> salary or wage and any payments received by the employee from a <br /> public employee pension fund or under the provisions of workmen ' s <br /> compensation or occupational disease laws , or either or both, for <br /> the duration of such disability, or a period of six calendar <br /> months from the date of commencement of disability, whichever is <br /> the shorter period of time . Beginning the second time during a <br /> fiscal year that an employee in the general service absen�s <br /> himself from the job for one complete working day or two or more <br /> consecutive scheduled working days discounting any intervening <br /> earned or scheduled days off due to an on-the-job injury, illness <br /> or disability, and on all such similar occasions until the end of <br /> the fiscal year, and any time that an employee in the police or <br /> fire services absents himself from the job due to an on-the-job <br /> injury, illness or disability, deductions shall be made from the <br /> employees accumulated sick leave credit equivalent to the number <br /> of days or portion thereof for which no payments to the employee <br /> are made ar required under the provisions of public employee <br /> pension laws or workmen ' s compensation or occupational disease <br /> laws , and for which the City must compensate the employee under <br /> the provisions hereof; provided that , if such injury, illness or <br /> disability causes absence from work for a period of seven <br /> consecutive scheduled work days or more, then no deduction sha11 <br /> be made from accumulated sick leave credit ; and further provided <br />
