_
.
t'' ' ' r-
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT MEMORANDUM
- NO. 84-104
November 30, 1984
MEMORANDUM TO: Leslie T. Al1en, City Manager
FROM: j,^, Charles W. Cherches, Director
' - Dept . of Community Development
.
SUBJECT: Special Appropriation - Faries Parkway Project
During the past summer, ADM has been involved in planning the
landscaping of Faries Parkway along the new improved roadway.
They have worked with the Tree Board, the Decatur Township, the
University of Illinois landscaping classes , and a landscape
architect .
Final plans were recently approved and ADM asked the Tree Board
and the Township to sponsor and administer the landscape project
located entirely along the right-of-way of both Faries Parkway
and the railroad. Permission has been received to implement the
planned plantings .
This request is to permit the Tree Board to receive financial
contributions from ADM and other interested parties to pay for
the project . The City will disburse the funds to the successful
bidder, Jordan's Nursery. The City is asked to participate with
this special appropriation to permit the receipt and disbursement
of funds , as the Tree Board has no authority to do so.
