i ., . . c � �"�� ORDINANCE NO. � ORDINANCE ABATING A PORTION OF THE ANNUAL TAX LEVY FOR THE CITY OF DECATUR FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1983-1984 WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 83-60 passed and approved August 15 , 1983, the Council approved an annual tax levy upon all the taxable property within the corporate limits of the City of Decatur, Illinois , for the f,iscal year beginning with the lst day of May, 1983, and ending on the 30th day of April, 1984 , the sum of Four Million One Hundred Seventy Two Thousand Two Hundred Seventy Dollars; and, WHEREAS, a portion of said levy for the operation of Public Library Reading Rooms to be know as the Library Fund, is now ' available by law from the Personal Property Replacement Tax and can be abated. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the following tax levy for the indicated purpose for the year 1983 , payable in the year 1984 , are hereby partially abated as follows : Ordinance Number Ordinance Abated and Purpose Levy Abatement Levy 83-60 for the operation $1, 347 , 500 $150, 000 $1, 197, 500 of Public Library Reading Rooms to be known as the Library Fund Section 2 . That the total levy authorized by Ordinance No. 83-60 is hereby reduced from $4 , 172, 270 to $4 , 022, 270 for the fiscal year beginning with the lst day of May, 1983 , and ending on the 30th day of April, 1984 . Section 3 . That the County Clerk of the County of Macon, Illinois be, and is hereby, authorized and directed to abate in part said levy and to extend the same as so abated for the year 1983 . Section 4 . That the City Clerk be, and is hereby authorized and directed to cause a duly certified copy of this Ordinance to be filed with said County Clerk.
