1.
COUiJCIL iEf10RAPJDU9
;r2-112
October 28 , 1982
T0: The Honorable Mayor and City Councilmen
FROr7: Leslie T. Allen, City Manager
RE : Sale of Water to Non-Resident
I recommend the sale of water to a property located
outside the corporate limits . The City Code requires an
agreement for this type of transaction approved by the
City Council .
Normally, I would not recommend such an agreement if
there were a reasonable alternative for obtaining water by
a non-resident property owner .
I request that you read the letter of request from
Mr. Meldahl which indicates that a health hazard exists if
his well water is used. He also has made a sizable invest-
ment in attempting to rectify this problem.
If the agreement is approved by Council , Mr. Pleldahl
will pay a connection fee of $550, have a service line in-
stalled by a licensed plumber and pay double city water rate
for water consumed. The owner of this property will be re-
quired to annex to the City when his property becomes conti-
guous to the corporate limits .
Attachments
