.v � .� ����,�� <br /> . , � �4, :;;� <br /> , � ORDINANCE NO. �� —�( <br /> ORDINANCE VACATING AN ALLEY <br /> BETWEEN ILLINOIS AND JASPER STREETS <br /> WHEREAS, a petition has been received from Charles Cherches , <br /> Director of the Department of Community Development on behalf of <br /> the City of Decatur, Illinois , owner of all property abutting thereon, <br /> requesting vacation of an alley in the City of Decatur, Illinois , <br /> generally located in the block lying north of Sangamon Street between <br /> North Illinois Street and North Jasper Street, being more particularly <br /> described as follows : <br /> Commencing at the southeast corner of Lot One (1) <br /> in Block Twenty-three (23) of Carver' s Addition, <br /> Book T page 238 of the records in the Recorder' s <br /> Office of Macon County, Illinois; thence west to the <br /> east right-of-way line of North Illinois Street, <br /> thence south 14 feet to the northwest corner of Lot <br /> Eleven (11) of said addition, thence east to the west <br /> right-of-way line of North Jasper Street, thence north <br /> to the point of beginning;and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Decatur City Plan Commission held a public <br /> hearing upon the petition on February 4 , 1982 and did thereafter <br /> recommend to the Council that the prayer of said petition be <br /> granted and said alley be vacated as requested; and, <br /> WHEREAS , said alley is no longer useful to the public or <br /> to the City or to the owners of property abutting thereon and the <br /> public interest will be subserved by vacating said alley and the <br /> public will be relieved from any further burden or responsibility <br /> for opening, improving or maintaining said alley. <br /> NOW, 'PHEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS : <br /> Section 1. That the above described alley be, and the <br /> same is hereby, vacated as a public alley inasmuch as the same is no <br /> longer required for public use and the public interest will be subserved <br /> by such vacation, said alley being shown on the plat thereof hereto <br /> attached and made a part hereof. <br /> PRESENTED, PASSED, APPROVED AND RECORDED this _l�day of <br /> February, 1982. <br /> YOR <br /> ATTEST: <br /> CITY CL <br />
