,
July 9 , 1981
T0 : City Councilmen
FROM: Mayor Elmer W. Walton
RE : Revisions in Chapter 49 : Alcoholic Liquors
The revision recently discussed with you adding not-
for-profit charitable foundations as qualifying entities
for C1ass "E" licenses will be on the July 13th agenda.
Included in the same action will be a repeal of Section
13 of Chapter 49 , which prohibits sales/consumption on other
than the ground floor of licensed premises except clubs ,
restaurants , hotels or motels (see attached copy) . This
is a hold over from the same section of state law which
formerly required clear visi.on into licensed premises from
ground level .
That entire portion of state law has been repealed.
The proposed revision will bring Chapter 49 into conformance
with state 1aw and provide more flexibility in the utiliza- '
tion of licensed premises .
Attachment
