ORDINANCE NO. 80-52 w�'v <br /> ORDINANCE VACATING A PORTION OF A STREET <br /> - SOUTH 2Oth STREET - <br /> WHEREAS, a petition has been received from Shannon Walters <br /> and others, being the owners of all property abutting thereon, requesting <br /> vacation of a portion of that certain street in the City of Decatur, <br /> Illinois , commonly known as South 20th Street, said portion of said <br /> street being more particularly described as : <br /> Beginning at the Northeast corner of Lot 22 of <br /> Parkway Addition, as per plat recorded in Book <br /> 335 Page 458 of the records in the Recorder' s <br /> Office of Macon Count�r, thence South a distance <br /> of 123 . 62 feet, thence East a distance of 45 feet <br /> to the Southwest corner of Lot 23 of said Parkway <br /> Addition, thence North 123 . 62 feet to the Northwest <br />' corner of said Lot 23, thence West 45 feet to the <br /> place of beginning, situated in Macon County, Illinois; <br /> and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Decatur City Plan Commission held a public hearing <br /> upon said petition on November 1, 1979 and did thereafter recommend to <br /> the Council that the prayer of said petition be granted and said <br /> portion of said street be vacated as requested; and, <br /> WHEREAS , said portion of said street is no longer useful to the <br /> public �r to the City or to the owners of property abutting thereon <br /> and the public interest will be subserved by vacating said portion of <br /> ' said street and the public will be relieved from any further burden <br /> or responsibility for opening, improving or maintaining said portion <br /> of said street. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1 . That the above described portion of said South <br /> 20th Street be, and the same is hereby, vacated as a public street <br /> upon the exceptions and conditions hereinafter provided inasmuch as <br /> the same is no longer required for public use and the public interest <br /> will be subserved by such vacation, said portion of said street being <br /> shown on the plat thereof hereto attached and hereby made a part <br /> hereof. <br /> Section 2 . That there is hereby reserved in, over, along and under <br /> the above described portion of said street, to the City of Decatur, <br /> Illinois, and to the public and to those utilities and companies <br />
