<br /> SECTION II . DEFI�tITIONS
<br /> For the purpose of this Ordinance, certain terms and words are herewith
<br /> defi ned as fol 1 oi�rs:
<br /> 1Jords used in the presert tense include the future; words in the singuiar
<br /> nurrber include the plural , and words in the plural number include the singular;
<br /> the word "building" includes �he word "structure" , the word "shall " , is
<br /> mandatory and not directory.
<br /> 70. RESIDE"�TIAL CARE FACILITY: Any facility, other than a foster home, rouc
<br /> home (5 or less) , or c,roup home (6 to 12) , wether operated for profit or
<br /> . not, which through ownershi � or manaeement provides residential care to one
<br /> or more persvns who are not related by blood or marriage to either tne owner
<br /> or operator, or one of them, of such facility, or any classiricotion o` such
<br /> facilities as de�ined i� the Minimur� Standards , Rules and Regulations , as
<br /> amended, oT the Jepartment of Public Health of the State ef Iilinois , that
<br /> provides supervised re.sidential care for a person , or persons , who because
<br /> or" aae, physical or mental disability, emotional or behaviora', disorder, or
<br /> mental retardation, are incapable of managing their person, whether or not
<br /> under conserva�orship or guardianship. Residential care facility includes
<br /> but is not limited to, among others , the following: nursin, hames , shelter
<br /> care h�mes , halfway houses , specialized residential care facilities, special- �
<br /> ized living centers , rehab� litation homes , and detention homes ror either
<br /> juveniles or adults , or both.
<br /> 73. GROUP HOME {5 or Less ) : A nome or other residertial buildinq which is
<br /> licensed, certified, or otherwise reeulated by the tate of Illinois , or
<br /> some department, division or bureau thereof, where not more than five 5)
<br /> handicapped persor,s & �h� dren resiGe , to�ether w�tn suc. sta� anci suoer-
<br /> visory pe rsonnel that r�ay 5e reouired � state iaws or reaulations .
<br /> 74. GRQUP HOME (12 to 6) : .A home or other residential buildin� which is licensed ,
<br /> certified, ar other��rise reQuiated b the State of Illinois or some deoartmen�,
<br /> division ar bureau thereof, where rot less than six 6 but no more than
<br /> �welve 12 handicapped persons chi ren resiGe;� tQaei��er �•n�n such staff
<br /> and suoervisory oersonnel that may be rec�u�•re y sta�e �aars or re�;u at�ons .
<br /> 75. HAPdDICAPPED PERSO";S: Fersons of any aq� who by reason of severe or
<br /> persistent mental , emotiona] , or pnysical disabilitv or develoomental
<br /> disability experience a levei ot impaired *unctionirg relative to the
<br /> orimary as�ects o� daily living. -
<br /> 76. CHILDREN: Persons who ar� 17 vears of a�e or less .
