Where a p lic sewer is accessible in a street, <br /> alley, easement or other pub ic way, the wastes from any plumbing <br /> system in said building shal be discharged into the public sewer <br /> and no cesspool, septic tank or other sewage tank or privy shall be <br /> constructed or maintained on property from which a public sewer <br /> is accessible. No pipe, con uit, outfall, sewer or drain shall be <br /> connected with any existing ewer of the City or any existing sewer <br /> under the jurisdiction or co trol of the City except in compliance <br /> with Chapter 68 of the City ode of the City of Decatur, Illinois, <br /> entitled "Sewer Connections" Notwithstanding any other <br /> provisions of this ordinance the City Manager may direct that <br /> building sewers or building rains , or both, shall be inspected <br /> by the Inspection Division o by the Department of Public Works , <br /> or both, and the authority o either to enforce the requirements <br /> of this ordinance and requir compliance therewith shall be the <br /> same as if each were specifi ally mentioned wherever appropriate , <br /> therein as to said sewers or drains.
