, � � �'- +-� . ,MlCR0�1lM� ORDINANCE NO. g-- O ORDINANCE VACATING A PORTION OF STREET - EAST NORTH - WHEREAS , the Decatur Metropolitan Exposition Auditorium and Office Building Authority owns all premises abutting each side of that portion of Eas t North Street in the City described herein; and, WHEREAS , said Authority will construct a civic center including municipal offices for the City along with �purtenaiit structures on a portion of said premises ; and, WHEREAS , said civic center will require greatly increased off street parking facilities near and adjacent thereto ; and, WHEREAS , said Authority has requested that said portion of said East North Street be vacated; and, WHEREAS , it is in the best interest of the City and the public interest will be subserved and the safety of vehicular traffic in the area where said civic center will be located will be enhanced and vehicular traffic on the streets of the City in said area will be better controlled if said portion of said street is vacated; and, WHEREAS , that portion of said street so vacated will be devoted to another public use which is necessary and convenient to the public and the City; and, WHEREAS, there exists certain sewers , watermains , telephone conduits and power lines and other utilities in said portion of said East North Street. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the portion of East North Street in the City be , and the same is hereby, vacated as a public street or way effective and upon the exceptions and conditions hereinafter provided inasmuch as the public interest will be subserved and said portion of said street will be put to anotr.er public use necessary and convenient in the public interest and the interest of the City. Said portion of such street being shown on the plat hereto attached
