J� .� k..: �� <br /> , ,� . �, �y, ��,,, <br /> �,,�; 1oss:�;�.�� cRa �•� oea�► <br /> � ORDINANCE NO. 78-120 <br /> • o�.�.°'� t� <br /> ' � AUG � R 147R '� <br /> �n �981 �, 55[+ <br /> ORDINANCE VACATING A PORTION OF STREET� �-----Po�_ <br /> . �+ <br /> .,� i�I�'w'�� <br /> - EAST NORTH - <br /> � �g Recorder of UltQs <br /> WHEREAS, the Decatur Metropolitan Exposition Auditorium and <br /> Office Building Authority owns all nremises abutting each side <br /> of that portion of Eas t North Street in the City described herein; <br /> and, <br /> WHEREAS , said Authority will construct a civic center <br /> including municipal offices for the City along with �purtenant <br /> structures on a portion of said premises; and, <br /> WHEREAS , said civic center �ill require greatly increased off <br /> street parking facilities near and adjacent thereto; and, <br /> WHEREAS, said Authority has reguested that said portion of <br /> said East North Street be vacated; and, <br /> WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City and the <br /> public interest will be subserved and the safety of vehicular <br /> traffic in the area where said civic cer_ter will be located will <br /> be enhanced and vehicular traffic on the streets of the Ci.ty in <br /> said area will be better controlled if said portion of said <br /> street is vacated; and, <br /> WHEREAS , that portion of said street so vacated will be <br /> devoted to another public use which is necessary and convenient <br /> to the public and the City; and, <br /> WHEREAS, there exists certain sewers, watermains , telephone <br /> conduits and power lines and othPr utilities in said portion of i, <br /> said East North Street. ' <br /> NOW, THERr^.FORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That the portion of East North Street in the City <br /> be, and the same is hereby, vacated as a public street or way <br /> effective and upon the exceptions and conditions hereinafter provided <br /> inasmuch as the public interest wiZl be subserved and said portion <br /> of said street will be put to another public use necessary and <br /> convenient in the public interest and the interest of the City, <br /> said portion o= such street being shown on the plat hereto attached <br /> BOOM�.�S� ���E��� <br />
