77-223 ADOPTING OFFICIAL COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AND OFFICIAL MAP

� �. - �., • . - . ��GROFIIMED ORD INANCE NO. �i�+•Z 3 ORDINANCE ADOPTING OFFICIAL COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AND OFFICIAL MAP WHEREAS, on the lst day of September, 1977, the Plan Commission of the City of Decatur adopted a resolution recommending the adoption by the City Council of an official comprehensive plan and an official map, copies of which were attached to and made a part of said resolution; and, WHEREAS , on the 12th day of September, 1977, the City Council, in Resolution No. R77-143, received, placed on file and approved said plan and map, and scheduled a public hearing thereon before the Plan Commission, said hearing to be held at 3 :00 P.M. on the 6th day of October, 1977; and, WHEREAS, said public hearing was held upon due notice as provided on the 6th day of October, 1977, at which hearing it was publically announced that said hearing was recessed to 3 :00 P.M. onthe 3rd day of November, 1977, at which time said hearing was resumed and then concluded after allowing all persons present an opportunity to be heard; and, WHEREAS , it has been determined by the City Council that certain modifications and amendments to said plan and map are necessary and desirable; and, WHEREAS , it has been determined by the City Council that the adoption of said official comprehensive plan and official map, as modified and amended, will be conducive to the public health, safety ' and welfare by establishing advisory guidelines to be consulted and considered by both public officials and private citizens in planning for orderly and beneficial future development of the City of Decatur and in aiding the Plan Commission and City Council in the proper and fair exercise of the zoning power. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the plan entitled " City of Decatur Official Comprehensive Plan: November, 1977 " and the map contained therein, both amended as above noted, presented to the Council herewith, be, and the same are hereby, made a part hereof, and the same be, an3 they are hereby, adopted as the official comprehensive plan and official map respectively of the City of Decatur as by statute provided.
