Perry, Purchasing Supervisor <br /> SUBJECT: Resolution Accepting the Bid of Jackson Ford, Inc., Decatur, IL, for the Purchase of One(1)2017 Ford F-250 Pick- <br /> Up with Snow Plow <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding a contract in the amount of$31,496.00 to Jackson Ford, <br /> Inc., Decatur, IL to furnish one(1)2017 Ford F-250, heavy duty 3/4 ton pick-up truck with snow plow. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Public Works Traffic Section is replacing one(1)2001 Ford Escape, due to the age and condition. The normal life <br /> expectancy is ten(10)years. <br /> The new Ford F-250 will be assigned to the Traffic Section Foreman. This vehicle will better serve the Traffic Department for <br /> snow removal, occasional transportation of supplies and equipment and for use by supervisory personnel to monitor activities of <br /> section employees and respond to service request by citizens. <br /> The replacement vehicle is estimated to be delivered in 120 days. <br /> The Public Works Traffic Section requested a vehicle with specific features: I <br /> • 3/4 ton four-wheel drive pick-up truck '' <br /> • 7'6"snow plow. <br /> PRIOR COUNCIL ACITON: <br /> May 16, 2016-Resolution accepting the bid of Bob Brady Auto Mall, Decatur, IL, for the purchase of one(1) 2016 Dodge Ram <br /> 2500, heavy duty 3/4 ton pick-up tuck with snow plow for$32,537.27. Council rejected bid#2016-06 to allow rebidding due to <br /> an attached letter from Bob Ridings, Decatur, IL, which gave a price dead line that expired prior to council meeting. <br /> OTHER BIDDERS: Thirteen(13)bid proposals were sent out with four(4)bids returned. <br /> DISPOSAL OF REPLACED UNIT: The old unit has been sold at auction. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known objections. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Fleet Maintenance wrote the bid spec�cations based on Traffic Section requirements. <br />
