Hurt
509 Professional Building
363 South Main Strest
Decatur, Illinois 62523
Ret Street Vacation
North Westlawn at Stevens Creek
Decatur, Illinois
Dear Mr. Hurt:
Pursuant to your request by letter of Apzil 11, 1977 , Verne E. Roby
and I have inspected the above captioed stzeet right-of-aay being
that portion indicated as being in the city limits of Decatur. The
city engineering office advises us that there is approximately
14,000 sq. ft. in the right-of-way. It further appears there are
no other services requiring surface easements.
The inspection reveals a portion of the old road remaining although
both of the former "Twin Bridges" have been removed. The olc3 right-
of-way has been raised above the adjoining land as th e adjoining
land is in the flood plain near thQ confluence of Stevens Creek and
Spring Creek. It appears to be a kind of land being generally used
as pasture when not in flood. 2he indicated zoning for the general
area in the city is R-1 One Family Residential.
The purpose of the inspection was to estimate the fair compensation,
in our opinion, that would acczue to the purchaser fzom the benefits
derived from the vacation.
