' - j '����� <br /> ORDINANCE VACATING ALLEYS AND STREETS <br /> TORRENCE PARK URBAN RENEWAL <br /> WHEREAS , the Torrence Park Urban Renewal Redevelopment <br /> Plan, after favorable recommendation by the Decatur City Plan <br /> Commission, has been heretofore approved and adopted by the Council; <br /> and, <br /> WHEREAS, redevelopment of said area in the City in <br /> accordance with said plan causes certain portions of streets and <br /> alleys therein to be no longer useful to the public as streets <br /> or alleys or public ways; and, <br /> WHEREAS , as a part of said plan it was and is contemplated <br /> in the public interest that the land included within said alleys and <br /> streets will be put to other uses; and, <br /> WHEREAS, said redevelopment and vacation of said streets <br /> and alleys will subserve the public interest and the public wi17_ be <br /> relieved of the further burden of maintaining said no longer useful <br /> streets or alleys. <br /> NOW, THErTLEFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS : <br /> Section 1. That the Council finds that the public interests <br /> will be subserved by the vacation of those certain streets or alleys <br /> in the City hereinafter described, and thatthe same are no longer <br /> useful to the public, or to the owners of lands abutting thereon, as <br /> streets or alleys or public ways. <br /> Section 2 . That said streets and alleys be, and they are <br /> hereby, subject to the reservation hereinafter set out, vacated as <br /> streets or alleys or public ways, the same being shown on the Flat <br /> thereof hereto attached and made a part hereof and being described as : <br /> (a) In Peddecord & Burrows Addition to the Town of <br /> Decatur, as per Plat recorded in Book U, page 423 of the records <br /> in the Recorder' s Office of Macon County, Illinois : <br /> (1) . The alley extending north and south between the <br /> North line of East Sangamon Street and the South line of <br /> East Marietta Street in Block 4 ; <br /> (2) . North Lowber Street between said North and South <br /> street lines and the East line of said Block 4 and the <br /> West line of Block 5; <br /> (3) . The alley extending north and south between <br /> said North and South street lir_es in Block 5 ; <br />
