On January 31, 1977 South Si�e <br /> Country Club file� a Petition with the City Clerk <br /> containing the signatures of not less than 66 2/3% <br /> of all the legal voters resi�ing in the area annexe� <br /> to the City in or�inance No. 4989, requesting the <br /> �iscontinuance of the existing prohibition� of the <br /> sale at retail of alcoholic liquor. The Petition <br /> was submitte�l un�er Illinois Revise� Statutes, Chapter <br /> 43 Section 173.1 as require�, which provi�es that the <br /> status of an annexe.� area shall remain the same until <br /> change� in accor�ance with the following provisions: <br /> (b) upon the filing in the offi. ce of the clerk of <br /> the nolitical sub�livision of which the annexe•� area <br />
