, ' �, ,v . . ` ��I�i.f/ • ORDINANCE NO. 1 `' - � � AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS WHEREAS, there has been filed with the City Clerk of the City of Decatur, Illinois , the sworn petition of JAMES E. PETERS requesting that premises described as : All parts of any highway within or adjacent thereto, and The north 110 feet of the east 200 feet of the following described tract: Beginning at �he North East Corner of the North East Quarter of the North West Quarter of Section 35, Township 16 North, Range 2 East of the 3rd P.M. thence West 394 feet thence South 888. 36 feet to the Vandalia Railroad Right-of-Way thence South- easterly along said Right-of-Way 225 feet, thence North 193 feet to a Rock, thence East 250 .08 feet to a Rock on the Quarter Section line, thence North 878 feet to the place of beginning, contain- ing 8. 29 acres. be annexed to the City of Decatur, Illinois ; and, WHEREAS , it is shown by affidavit that said petition is signed by all of the owners u� record of said premises and by all of the electors residing therein; and, WHEREAS , said territory is contiguous to the City of Decatur, Illinois , and is not a part of any City, Village, Incorporated Town, or other Municipality; and, WHEREAS , notice of intention to take action on annexation of said territory has been given as provided by statute. NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS : Section l. That the said territory hereinabove described along with all parts of public highways therein or next and adjacent thereto not heretofore annexed, if any, be , and the same are hereby, annexed to and is incorporated into the limits of the City of Decatur, Illinois, a municipal corporation.
