Cherches, Director
Dept. of Community Development
SUBJECT: Annexation of Premises Commonly Known as 3088 South
Franklin Street Road
A valid petition requesting annexation of the subject premises
has been filed with the City Clerk' s Office. Containing approxi-
mately one-half acre, the lot is presently developed with a single
family dwelling. The primary reason for requesting annexation
is to obtain City water to serve the existing development.
The following data is pertinent to the subject request:
1. A twelve inch water main is adjacent to the premises
along Franklin Street Road; service is readily available.
2. Existing fire hydrants are adequate to serve the exist-
inq single family dwelling.
3. The Finance Department reports a taxable assessed valua-
tion of $2740.00 which could result in approximately $27. 00 of
additional annual revenue. Also, additional revenue in annual
amounts of approximately $43.00 and $34.00 would become avail-
able from motor fuel and state income taxes respectively.
4. The subject lot is not served by a sanitary sewer system.
The nearest sewer is located northwest approximately one-quarter
mile in the Wildwood Addition.
5. As reported by the Corporation Counsel, the petition is
in proper legal form and ready for hearing.
Inasmuch as the area to the immediate west is inside the
City and that City water is available, staff recommends approval
of the petiton. The availability of City water and other municipal
services will be beneficial in maintaining and improving this
residential area.
ms
