That those positions set out on Exhibit 1 . <br /> he reto attached and heYeby ffiade a part here of be, and the same <br /> are hereby, designated as the positions constituting the classi- <br /> fied firefighting s�rvice of the City, and are designated as <br /> those pesitions to �ich the p�ovisions of thi� ordinance are ap- <br /> plicable and said positions are hereby assigned to the grade or <br /> range set opposite each on said Exhibit 1. <br /> Sect icm 2. That until �he further order of the Ccyuncil, <br /> subject to the direction of the City Manager and to payrolls caused <br /> to be prepared by him and submitted to and approved by the Coancil, <br /> effective as of and retroactive to May 1, 1975, salaries and wages <br /> up to the ameunts shown for said respective positions in Exhibit 2 <br /> attached hereto and hereby made a part hereof be, and the same are <br /> hereby, authorized. <br /> Section 3. 1'hat the followi.ng provisions of this sect ion <br /> sha11 apply in the event of reduction of personnel in said classi- <br /> fied fire fighting service: <br /> (a) If the fire fighting force of the Department is re- <br /> duced, such r�duction in numbeY� of employees and later reinstate- <br /> �ent thereof shall be done in strict compliance with departmental <br /> seniority. The last employee certified shall be the first fur- <br /> loughed and the employee last furloughed shall be the first re in- <br /> stated and furloughed employee shall be given preference in f illing <br /> vacancies before resort to eligibility lists of new emplc�yees. t�en <br /> a vacancy is to be filled the eligible furloughed employee shall be <br /> given notice th�eof by registered mail. Written application for re- <br /> instatement must be made within 15 days after such notification by <br /> registered mail. <br />
