' "t ' � rF <br /> i <br /> �� - '.r.� ,�, �•-� <br /> � :J <br /> i <br /> ORD INANCE NO. l0 6 �� <br /> ORDINANCE REGULATING PREFABRICATED <br /> BUILDINGS AND BUIUDING COMPONENTS. <br /> Wf-IEREAS, the various building and mechanical codes and ordinances <br /> in force within the City of Decatur, Illinois, are structured so as to <br /> contemplate construction, erection and in stallation at and on the build- <br />� ing site of the var ious stxuctures, components and mechanical systems <br /> to which tl�e satne apply; and, <br /> WE�R&AS, the administrat ion of the requirements of said Codes and <br /> ordinances is based upon a system of regulation which is dependent upon <br /> licensing of various trades and contractors, on site inspections and <br /> testing, and othe r elements of control locally e xercised; and, <br /> WHEREAS, such administration and system of regulation, although it <br /> is adequate and workable for the purposes and processes traditionally <br /> contemplated by it, the same does not contemplate, or admit of, the ap- <br /> plication, use and approval of newer techniques and efficiencies now avail- <br /> able in the construction, ma rnxfacture and equipping of buildings; and, <br /> WHEREAS, such newer techniques and efficiencies are of considerable <br /> moment in efforts to provide lower cost housing, particularly of the de- <br /> tached single family type for which there is much need in this City, said <br /> techniques and efficiencies being those used to construct, manufacture <br /> and equip housing uni�s �iich, though sometimes otherwise designated, are <br /> regularly and commonly known as modular homes; and, <br />
