WHEREAS, the City of Decatur, Illinois, has heretofore by Reso- lution R-2525 passed March 13, 1972, approved and adopted an Urban � Renewal Plan commonly called the "Torrence Park Urban Renewal Pro- ject; and, WHEREAS, in connection with said Plan and the determination that I'I the area falls within the definitions of blighted or slum areas as de- �II fined by the Urban Community Conservation Act � g1.10, Chapter 67� of � the I1linois Revised Statutes 1973, an d under the authority of Chapter �, 24 � 11-11-1 of the Illinois Revised Statutes 1973 of the State of I, Illinois, the City has the power of condemnation; I NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE OOUNCIL OF THE CITY OF II DECATUR� ILLINOIS: ', Section 1. That it is hereby determined that the real estate par- cels described herein below are within the area designated as the Tor- �' rence Park Urban Renewal Project approved by this Council on March 13, I 1972, by Resolution R-2525. Section 2. That it be, and it is hereby, determined to be neces- sary and desirable that the City of Decatur, Illinois, in order to carry out said Urban Renewal Project as approved, acquire title and possession of the following described real �roperty: Lot 1 in Block 8 of Powers lst Addition to the City of Decatur as per Plat recorded in Book 22 page 487 of tho Records in the Recorder's Office of Macon County, I1linois, (Commonly known as 1375 and 1381 East Orchard Street, Decatur, Illinois. ) The West � of Lot One (1) in Block Four (4) of Peddecord and Burrows Addition to the City of Decatur, as per Plat recorded in Book U on Page 423 of the Records in the Recor- der `s Office of Macon County, Illinois, (Commonly known as 1241 East Marietta, Decatur, Illinois. )
