It shall be unla wful for any person to be cruel to any Cruelty to animal in any of the following ways: .Animals (a) By aver-leading, aver-driving, over-woxking, cruelly beating, torturing, tormenting, mutilating, or cruelly killing any animal or causing or knowingly allowing the same to be done. (b) By cruelly working any animal including old, maimed, infirm, sick or disabled animals, ox causing or knowingly allow- ing �he same to be done. � (c ) By failing to pxovide any animal in his charqe or cus- tody, as owner or otherwi.se, with proper and necessary food, drink or shelter. (d) By abandoning ox turning out to die any animal, includ- ing old, maimed, infirm, sick or disabled animals. (e) By carxying or driving or causing to be carried or driven, or kept, any animal in any unnecessarily cruel manner. 9. Forbidden Dogs and Cats 10. WheneVer used herein, the followin g words shall have the Definitions meaning set after them as follows: (a) Dog - means all members of the family Canidae. (b) Owner - means any p�rson having a right of property in a . dog or other animal or v�o k�eps or harbors a dog ox other aniraal or who has it in his care, or acts as its custodian , or �vho know- ingly �erraits a dog or other domestic animal to remain on or about ` any prer�ise occupied by him. (c) O�m - have a right of property in, or kesp, or harbor, or act as custodian �f, or have the care of, or kno�vingly permit, or encourage, to remain on or about premis�s occupie d by the owning per5on. (d) Run at Zarge - suffering, or pexmitting, or causing aa aniinal to be at any place within the City, at any time, than pre- . mises occupied by the ownex thereof, �xcept when such animal is under t�ie direc�e, effective, physical control of the owner there- of, or his agent, or a member of the iimnediate family of said ownex.
