V O s� <br /> rN AN ORDINANC� PERMITTING EXIENSION OF <br /> BUILDING BEYOND STRE�ET LINE <br /> WF�REAS, the owner of the premises and the existing <br /> building situated at the Northeast Corner of East Wbod Street <br /> and South water Street, commonly known as the Hotel Orlando, <br /> has represented to the Council that he intends to iffiprove <br /> said building by the remodeling and maderni2ation of the West <br /> facade thereof, and the architect retained by said owner has <br /> represented to the Council that in order to attempt such <br /> remodeli.ng and modernization in a ma►nneY vad�ich will be <br /> reasonably financially �easible, it wi11 be necessaxy to <br /> project parts of said facade from 4" to 18�� beyond the s�tzeet <br /> line and into the public right-of-way, and <br /> Wi�REAS, permission of the Council to so remodel <br /> and construct said facade on said existing building with such I <br /> a projection has ibeen requested of the Council; and I <br /> tn�REAS, it appears that in connection with said I <br /> existing b�uildiag and innnediately adjacent to the area v�ich I <br /> is currently proposed to be remodeled, there is an existing I <br /> projection of similar nature, permission for �ich v�►s granted I <br /> by the Gbuncil some years ago, the extension of �ich along <br /> the remainder of the face of said building �ill not unduly <br /> interfere with or restrict the use of the public right-of-way �I <br /> under current conditions; � <br /> NOW� THEREFOREi BE IT O�DAINED BY TI£ COiJNCIL OF THE I� <br /> CITY OF DECATVR� ILLINOIS: � <br /> Section 1. T°hat upon and subject to the conditions and <br /> limitations hereinafter se t out, pexmissicm be, and it is hereby, <br /> granted to the cutrent awnez of the premises and building situated <br /> at the Northeast Corner of East Wood Street an d South Water Street <br /> to construct a new facade on said building in such manner that <br /> the same nay project into the right-of-way of said South Watex <br /> Street, not to exceed a maximum of 4" at grade, and above to an <br /> elevation of 9'10", and to a ma3ri.mum projection of 18" at elevation <br /> 9t10" above grade, vdzich projection may extend laterally along the <br /> East line of said South Water Street, comanencing at a distance <br /> of 106.75' No�th of the North line of East Wood Street and <br /> may extend Nor therly from said point 41 1/2t. <br />
