� ✓� <br /> . �r'� <br /> ORDINANCE NO. �� �P � <br /> AN ORDINANCE A1�NDING CITY CODE - <br /> CHAPTER 30 - TRAFFIC <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CCJUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> De.�.CATUR� I LLII�OIS: <br /> Section 1. That the Ci.ty Code of the City of <br /> Decatur, Illinois, be, and the same is hereby, amended <br /> at Chapter 30 thereof entitled "TRAFFIC" by adding sub- <br /> section (g) to Section 38 thereof so that said section <br /> as so amended shall provide as follows; <br /> 38. Police officers are here by authori2ed to Authority <br /> remove or cause to be removed a vehicle from a public to Impound <br /> street or highway to the nearest garage or other place Vehicles <br /> of safety or, to a garage designa ted by the Chief of <br /> Police under the following eircumstances: <br /> (a) When any vehicle is left unattended <br /> upon any viaduct, bridge, or other elevated structure <br /> upon a high�ray, or in any subway or highway tunnel or <br /> the approach thereto. <br /> (b) When a vehicle is so disabled as to <br /> constitute an obstruction to traffic and is left un- <br /> attended or the person or persons in charge are incapa- <br /> citated to such an extent as to be unable to provide for <br /> its custody or control. <br /> (c) Whe n any vehicle is left unattended <br /> upon a street, an alley or an off-street parking facility <br /> and is parked as to constitute a hazard or obstruction to <br /> traffic. <br /> (d) tnlhen any vehicle is left unattended <br /> upon a street in front of a driveway so as to prevent <br /> ingress or egress thereto. <br /> (e) 4�en any vehicle is left unattended <br /> upon the street or an alley for a period of time in ex- <br /> cess of 72 hours other than in a metered area. <br /> (f) When any vehicle is left in a metered <br /> parking space on a street or in any municipal o.ff-street <br /> parking facility for a period in excess of 48 hours. <br /> (g) When any vehicle is parked or left stand- <br /> ing in violation of the provisions of paragraphs 21 through <br /> 37, inclusive, of this Chapter. <br />
