V „s t. ; � . � ORDINANCE NO. .�� AN ORDINA1�iCE VACATING PUBLIC WAY -- PORTION OF 1�RTH 16TH STREET WHERfiAS, a petition has been received from EAST SIDE REALTY COMPANY and GATES AND JOHN90N ROOFTNG AND S�ET N�TAL, INC., re- questing vacation by the City Council of a portion of North 16th Street in the City of Decatur, Illinois, extending northerly fxan East Eldorado Street a dis tance of 150 feet and descxibed as= A Fifty (50) foot strip running north and south being pa rt of an existing street comm�only known as North 16th Street, Decatur, I1linois, com�nencing at the Southwest Corner of Lot Eighteen (18) in Block Two (2) of S. C. Allen's Subdi- vision of a part of the Northwest 1/4 of Section 13, Toum- ship 16 North, Range 2 East of the Third Principal Meridian as per plat recorded in Book 22 page 417 of the Records in � the Recorder 's Office of Macon County, Illinois, and running thence West, a distance of Fifty (50) feet to the South�east Corner of Lot Five (5) in Block One (1) of Rolling Mill Second Addition to the City of Decatur,Illinois, as per Plat thereof recorded in Book 46, page 3 of the Records in the Recorder's Office of Macon County, Illinois; therrce North 150 feet along the East line of Lot Five (5) in Block One (1) of said Rolling Mi11 Second Addition; thence East 50 feet to the Northwest Coxner of Lot Eighteen (18) in Block Two (2) of said S. C. E111en's Subdivis ion; thence South 150 feet along the VJast line of Lot Eighteen (18) in Block Two (2) oF said S. C. Allen's Subdivision to the place of beginning; and 4+�iEREAS, petitioners own all premises abutting the afore-de- scribed portion of said public way; an d WI-�REAS, said way is no longer useful to the public or to the City or to the owners of property abutting thereon as a public way; an d WHEREAS, the public interest will be subserved by vacating said portion of said public way and the public will be relieved fr an the burden and responsibility of maintaining the same. NOW� TI�REFORE� BE IT ORDiA.INED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF I�CATUR� ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the above-descxibed portion of said public way be, and the same is l�ereby, subject to the exceptions, reservations, and conditions hereinafter set out, vacated as a public way inasmuch as the same is no longer required for public use and the public in- terest will be subserved by such vacation and the public will be re- lieved from the burden and responsibility of maintaining the same, said public way being shown on the plat thereof hereto attached and hereby made a part heYeof.
