, ✓ � � • � � . c ORDINANCE NO. �3 AN OF�INAI��CE VACATING PUBLIC WAY -- PORTION OF NORTH WOODFORD STREET W!-�REAS, a pet ition ha s been received from WAGNER CASTINGS OOMPANY and I�ORFOLK & WESTERN RAILWAY OOMPANY requesting vacation by the City Council of that pa rt of North Woodford Street in the City of DEcatuz, Illinois, e�ending southerly from Sangamon Street to the right-of-vuay of said Railway Cornpany and described ass Beginning at the intersection of the South line of Sangamon Street as vacated and the East line extended of the Resurvey of the East Half of Block 7 of Peddecord and Burrow's Addi- tion to the City of Decatur, as per Plat recorded in Book 22 page 419 of the Recar ds in the Recorder's Office of Macon County, Illinois; thence South along said East line of the Resurvey to the Northeast corner of Lot 6 of said Resurvey; thence East to a point on the West line of Block Two (2) of E. Thomas Subdivision of a part of the S.W. 1/4 of Section 12, To�ship 16 North, Range 2 East of the 3rd P.M., as per Plat recorded in Book 22 page 453 of the Records in the Re- corder's Office of Macon County,Illinois; thence North along said West line of Block Two (2) of E. Thomas Subdivi�ion to the Northw�est corner of said Block Two (2); thence Noxthwest to the point of beginning, situated in the City of Decatur, County of Macon, State of Illinoi s. and; 4�REAS, petitioners awn all premises abutting the afore-de scribed portion of said public way; and WHEREAS, said way is no longer useful to the public or to the City or to the owners of property abutting thereon as a public way; and WHEREAS, the public interest will be subserved by vacating said portion of said public way and the public will be relieved from the burden and responsibility of maintaining the same. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATiJR, ILLI NOI S: Section 1. That the above-�scribed portion of said public way be, and tlze same is hereby, subject to the exceptions, reservations, an d conditions hereinafter set out, vacated as a public way inasmuch as the same is no longer required for public use and the public in- terest will be subserved by su ch vacation and the public will be re- lieved fro�r► the burden and responsibility of maintaining the same, said public way being shown on tl� plat thereof hexeto at�tached and hereby made a part hereof. �
