ORDINANCE NO. S �3 8 <br /> AN ORDINAN(� REGARDING MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS <br /> WHEREAS, prior to the passage and approval of Ordinance <br /> No. 5680 on the 26th day of June , 1972, municipal elections in and <br /> for the City of Decatur, Illinois, were governed and controlled by <br /> applicable provisions of statute of the State of Illinois; and <br /> WHEREA S, anticipatin g that certain amendments to said sta- <br /> tute might be made by the General Assembly of the State of Illinois, <br /> the Council did pass the ordinance aforesaid so that said statutes <br /> would no longer govern and control such elections; and <br /> WHEREAS, said statutes were not amended as anticipated; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the Council desires that until its further order, <br /> ele ctions in and for the City sha 11 be conducted pursuant to and <br /> shall be controlled and governed by the applicable statutes of the <br /> State of Illinois from time to time in effect. <br /> NOW THEREFORE� B� IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNQ L OF THE CITY OF <br /> DECA�C7R, ILLIIVOIS; <br /> SEction 1. That Ordinance No, 5680, entitled "An Ordinance <br /> Regarding Municipal Elections" presented, passed, approved and recorded <br /> the 26th day of June , 1972, be, and the same is hereby, repealed. <br /> Section 2. That all elections of the City whether general, <br /> special, regular or otherwise shall hereafter be held at such time and <br /> on such days and shall be conducted pursuant to and in accordance with <br /> and shall be governed and controlled by the applicable statutes of the <br /> IState of Illinois from time to time in effect with regard thereto. <br /> PRESENTED, PASSED, APPROVED & RECORDED this � day of <br /> November, 1972. <br /> MAYOR <br /> ATTEST: <br /> CITY Q.ERIC <br /> i <br />
