<br /> AND ADOPTING RfiGULATIONS BY REFfiRSNCE
<br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR�
<br /> ILLINOIS:
<br /> Section 1. That Ordinance Na. 5041, adopted August 5, 1968, en-
<br /> titleds
<br /> "An Ordinance Establishing Minimum Standards
<br /> For the Construction, Altexation and Removal
<br /> Of Buildings And Providing For Permits To Do

<br /> as amended, be, and the same is hereby, amended so that sections 20,
<br /> 21, 22, 23, and 37, as so amended, shall provides
<br /> 20. The regulations, rules, requirements and provisions
<br /> of Life Safety Code, 1967 fidition, of the 1Vational Fire
<br /> Protection Association, and, except for Articles l, �7.,,
<br /> 14, 15, 17, and 18 and section 301.2 of Article 3 thereof,
<br /> the Basic Building Code of the Building Official� and
<br /> Code Acbninistrators International, Inc. , Fifth Addition,
<br /> commonly known as the BOCA Basic Building Code/1970, are
<br /> adopted by reference and shall be in full force and effect
<br /> from and after the effective date hereof, provided that the
<br /> e�cpress provisions of this ordinance in conflict with any
<br /> pxovision of said codes shall talae precedence thereover to
<br /> the extent of such confiict.
<br /> 21. Whenever reference is �ade in said codes, hereby adopted
<br /> by reference, to the Building Official it shall mean and
<br /> �tand for the Building Inspector of the City of Deca�ur,
<br /> Illinois, and whenever reference is �aade in said BOCA Basic
<br /> Building Code/1970, to the provisions of any article or
<br /> section thereof excluded from the adoption by reference
<br /> herein provided for, such reference shall mean and stand for
<br /> reference to the applicable provisions of the ordinances of
<br /> the City then in force applying to the particular subject
<br /> matter of such reference.
<br /> 22. The provisions of said BOCA Basic Building Code/1970,
<br /> are here by amended to insert in lieu of the word "name of
<br /> �nunicipality", whereever the same appears in bracket italics,
<br /> the words, the City of Decatur, Illinois.
<br /> 23. In addition to the requirements of BOCA Basic Building
<br /> Code/1970, for the protection of structures against sub-
<br /> terranean termites, a continuous metal shield with solid
