Mo�er and others, a11 of �om ard th� owners of all property ab�tting thereon, requesting the vacatian by the City Council af a portion of that certain street in th� City of Decatur, Illinois, commnonly knovPn as Bast Gr�nd Avenue, saiel portion of s�id street beiAg more particularly described ass Beginniag at a point on the 5outh line of Lot 113, of Wab�sh Plac�, as pe!r Plat recorded in Book 149, page g42 of th� Records in the Recor der's Office of Macon County, Illinois, which said point is on the Bast zight-of-w�y line of North 22nd Stzeet, 50 feet Bast of the Wtst line of the North�ast Quar- ter of Section 22, �ownship 16 North, Range 2 fiast of the 3rd P.M. ; thence Bast along the South lines of Lota 113 thrcugh 144 inclusive of said Wabash Place to the Southeast corner of said Lot 144; th@nce South 20 feet to the! South line of the Northeast Qu�ar- ter of S�ction 12, Tov�ship 16 North, Range 2 East of the 3rd P.M. ; thence West along the South line of said Northt�ast Qusrt�r 1,285 feet to a point 50 feet East of th� Southw�est corner of said Northesst Quarter; thence North 20 f�et to the place of beginning; and WHfiRSAS, the Decatur City Plan Cm�ission held a public hearing upero said petition on March 2, 1972, and did thereafter reco�end to the Cc�ncil that the prayer of aaid petition be gramt- ed and said portion of sa�id �treet be vacated as requested; and WHBRBAS, aaid portion af said street althouqh the sa�� has been platted has never been opened or i�roved as a public stre�t; and WHBRSAS, said portion of said street is no longer u$eful to the public or to the City or to the ownF!rs of property abutting there�on as a :trea�t; and WHEREAS, the public interest will be subserved by vacating said portion of said street �nd the public vvi.11 be relieved fron any further burden or respansibility for apening, iaproving or main- taining said portion of saial �treet for use as a public atreet.
