When an �mployee� after being c�rtified fer <br /> appointment by the Civil Sexvic� Comt�ission, is appointed to an«� <br /> other classified position having a pay range high�r than the former <br /> position of such employee, �aid enployee shall advance to th� low�• <br /> est step of the new pay grade� or to the step in the ttew grade with ' <br /> the rate next above the rate of pay of such employee immediately <br /> before appointment! vohichever rate c►f pay is higher. <br /> Section 8. T�amporary, seasonal and part tise employees as <br /> defined in the Civil Service Cc�aission Rules sha11 be conpensated <br /> as set out in said schedule, shall receive only the salary or ae►ge <br /> provided in this section and shall not be entitled to or be credited <br /> with vacation time or pay, holidays, sick l�ave or other employee <br /> benefits. <br /> Section 9.
