ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS <br /> TIME AND PLACE OF OPENING BIDS: <br /> Sealed proposals for the improvement described herein will be received at the City of <br /> Decatur Purchasing Division located on the first floor of the Civic Center, #1 Gary K. <br /> Anderson Plaza, Decatur, Illinois, 62523, until 10:00 AM, February 21, 2017, and thereafter <br /> publicly opened and read. <br /> DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT: <br /> The proposed improvement is officially known as: <br /> 2017 ANNUAL WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT <br /> GARMAN PARK AREA & TURNER SUBDIVISION <br /> CITY PROJECT 2017-10 <br /> The proposed project herein specified and described includes the following work: <br /> Installing water main and associated appurtenances in Garman Park area and East Turner <br /> Drive, South Turner Court, and South Lake Ridge Drive to include 11,300 feet of 8" Water <br /> Main, and 500'of 6" Water Main. <br /> An Alternate bid is provided to replace an existing 16"valve at 4666 E Faries Parkway, <br /> Decatur, IL. <br /> The work also includes erosion control, items of pavement and landscape restoration, and <br /> traffic control. <br /> INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS: <br /> 1. A pre-bid meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. in <br /> the South Water Treatment Plant Conference Room. In addition to project <br /> questions, the opportunity will be provided to discuss the City's minority <br /> participation goals. Attendance at this meeting is not required to bid on the project. <br /> 3. Payment shall be made to Decatur Blue Print, Inc.
