RESOLUTION NO. R2021 — (o� <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A <br /> PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH DEWBERRY ARCHITECTS, INC. <br /> FOR DESIGN,BIDDING,AND CONSTRUCTION OVERSIGHT SERVICES FOR NEW <br /> FIRE STATION NO. 7 <br /> WHEREAS, the CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS, an Illinois municipal corporation and <br /> body politic ("City") is a Home Rule unit of local government pursuant to Article VII, Section 6 <br /> of the Illinois Constitution of 1970 and as such, may exercise any power or perform any function <br /> pertaining to its government and affairs including, but not limited to,the power to regulate for the <br /> protection of the public health, safety, morals and welfare, to license, to tax and incur debt; and, <br /> WHEREAS,the City desires to replace Fire Station#7 in a better geographic location than <br /> the current station; and, <br /> WHEREAS,the City finds this proposed professional services agreement with Dewberry <br /> Architects, Inc. in the best interest of the City to lead the new fire station replacement. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, <br /> ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That the agreement(s) authorizing professional services for architectural, <br /> engineering and project management services presented to the City Council herewith between <br /> the City of Decatur Illinois, and Dewberry Architects, Inc., be, and the same is hereby, received, <br /> placed on file, and approved. <br /> Section 2.
