RESOLUTION NO. RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AGREEMENTS FOR CITY OWNED AND LEASED PROPERTIES UNDER THE AMEREN PUBLIC SECTOR HVAC AND WATER HEATER INCENTIVE PROGRAM BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: WHEREAS the City of Decatur is the owner and lessee of various properties, Decatur, Illinois ("Properties"); and WHEREAS these properties all include Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning ("HVAC") systems and equipment which systems and equipment are necessary to the efficient operation and use of the Properties; and, WHEREAS Ameren has a program entitled the Ameren Public Sector HVAC and Water Heater Incentive Program ("Program") in an effort to increase energy efficiencies and reduce energy costs in the public sector; and, WHEREAS under the Program, Ameren will contribute towards replacement and improvement of HVAC and water heater systems and equipment in City owned and leased buildings with Ameren utility accounts; and, WHEREAS,the City is a home rule municipality under the Illinois Constitution and statutes; and, WHEREAS,the City was required to obtain prices from Ameren approved HVAC and water heater contractors in a short period of time in order to participate in the Program; and, WHEREAS the City desires to participate in the Program under certain conditions. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the City is authorized to enter into agreements to participate in the Ameren Public Sector HVAC and Water Heater Incentive Program. Section 2. That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to enter into Agreements with certain Ameren approved contractors for the Properties under the terms and conditions as he or his designee determine to be the most advantageous to the City.
