RESOLUTION NO. — <br /> RESOLUTION CERTIFYING AND ADOPTING THE CITY OF DECATUR <br /> TRANSPORTATION AGENCY SAFETY PLAN AMENDMENT <br /> Whereas, the provision of public transportation service is essential to the residents in <br /> Decatur and elsewhere; and <br /> Whereas, on July 19, 2018,the FTA published the Public Transportation Agency Safety <br /> Plan(PTASP)Final Rule,which requires certain operators of public transportation systems that <br /> receive federal funds under FTA's Urbanized Area Formula Grants to develop safety plans that <br /> include the processes and procedures to implement safety Management Systems (SMS); and <br /> Whereas, on November 15, 2021 the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law was signed into law <br /> and requires certain updates to the FTA's PTASP requirements over the following five (5)years <br /> including updates to the PTASP identifying strategies related to exposure to infectious diseases <br /> through safety risk management processes. <br /> NOW THEREFORE IT BE RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, <br /> ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor Pro Tem and City Council certify and adopt this safety plan and <br /> amendment,and they authorize and direct staff to execute the Public Transportation Agency Safety <br /> Plan on behalf of the City of Decatur, Illinois. <br /> PRESENTED and ADOPTED this 18th day of March 2024. <br /> of( Lisa Gregory, ay Pro Tem <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Kim Althoff, City Clerk <br />
