RESOLUTION NO. 2024- <br /> RESOLUTION DESIGNATING HONORARY STREET NAME IN HONOR OF <br /> JERRY PELZ <br /> WHEREAS,that on August 17, 2009,the City Council approved an Honorary Street <br /> Sign Program for the City of Decatur; and <br /> WHEREAS an Honorary Street designation shall be limited to individuals, <br /> organizations, entities and events that either had a significant lineage to the City or had a <br /> significant cultural, historical, or humanitarian impact on the City; and <br /> WHEREAS the committee finds that Mr. Pelz meets the criteria set forth in the <br /> ordinance. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That the City Council hereby designates the corner of E. King St., between N. <br /> Water St. & Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. in honor of Jerry Pelz for a period not to exceed ten (10) <br /> years from the date of this resolution. <br /> Section 2. That the cost shall be paid by the applicant prior to and as a condition of <br /> production and installation of the Honorary Street Sign. <br /> Section 3.
