RESOLUTION NO. R2026 - 151° <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXCESS LIABILITY INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR <br /> THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS <br /> FOR THE POLICY PERIOD OCTOBER 1,2026 TO OCTOBER 1,2027 <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Decatur current business insurance coverage shall expire October 1,2026, <br /> and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Decatur is in need of excess liability insurance coverage for the period <br /> October 1, 2026 through October 1, 2027; and <br /> WHEREAS, Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services, Inc. has requested quotes on the <br /> City's behalf for excess liability insurance for the period October 1, 2026 through October 1, 2027; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Underwriters at Starstone and General Star Indemnity Insurance Companies have <br /> submitted quotes to supply five million in excess liability insurance each in an amount not to exceed <br /> $510,000.00 and Arthur J. Gallagher is seeking quotes from Arch, Aurenity, and Upland Specialty <br /> Insurance Companies to supply an additional 5M in excess liability in an amount not to exceed <br /> $165,000.00. <br /> BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, <br /> ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That the quote of Starstone Insurance Company and General Star Indemnity to supply <br /> five million excess liability insurance each in an amount not to exceed $510,000.00 and either Arch, <br /> Aurenity,or Upland Specialty to supply five million excess liability insurance in the amount not to exceed <br /> $165,000 to the City of Decatur be, and the same is hereby, accepted and approved. <br /> Section 2. That the City Manager be, and is hereby authorized to direct Risk Management to <br /> execute the Client Authorization to Bind Coverage with Arthur J.
