RESOLUTION NO. Pi 4 'ab 1 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION SUBMITTAL FOR PUBLIC <br /> TRANSPORTATION CAPITAL ASSISTANCE GRANT FOR PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION <br /> FACILITIES,ROLLING STOCK,EQUIPMENT AND SERVICES UNDER THE ILLINOIS <br /> DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION'S GENERAL AUTHORITY TO MAKE SUCH <br /> GRANTS <br /> WHEREAS, the provision and improvement of public transportation including specialized <br /> transportation for seniors and individuals with disabilities, facilities, rolling stock, equipment and services <br /> is essential to the development of safe, efficient,functional public transportation; and, <br /> WHEREAS,the Illinois Department of Transportation has the authority to make such grants and makes <br /> paratransit vehicles available to general public transportation systems providing specialized paratransit <br /> service; and, <br /> WHEREAS, grants for said assets will impose certain obligations upon the recipient. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> DECATUR,ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That an application be made to the Office of Intermodal Project Implementation (OIPI), <br /> Department of Transportation,State of Illinois,for a financial assistance grant under the Illinois Department <br /> of Transportation's general authority to make such grants, for the purpose of off-setting eligible public <br /> transportation capital costs of the City of Decatur,Illinois. <br /> Section 2. That the City Manager of the City of Decatur, Illinois is hereby authorized and directed to <br /> sign and submit such application on behalf of the City of Decatur,Illinois. <br /> Section 3. That the transit staff of the City of Decatur, Illinois is authorized to furnish such additional <br /> information as may be required by the department in connection with the aforesaid application for said <br /> grant. <br /> Section 4. That City Manager of the City of Decatur, Illinois is hereby authorized and directed to <br /> execute on behalf of the City of Decatur the grant agreement or subsequent grant agreement amendments <br /> resulting from aforesaid application. <br /> Section 5. That transit staff of the City of Decatur is hereby authorized and directed to sign such <br /> documents as may be required by the department to request payment for the project funding authorized <br /> under aforesaid grant agreement. <br /> PRESENTED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of 0 .
