ORDINANCE NO. 2013- 13 <br /> ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING CONSUMPTION OF <br /> ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR ON PUBLIC RIGHT OF WA <br /> INTERNATIONAL BROADCASTERS IDEA BANK CONVENTION <br /> WHEREAS, Cromwell Group Inc. of Illinois and Neuhoff Med a have requested <br /> the closure of East North Street between Water Street and StatE Street and East <br /> William Street between Water Street and State Street for the Interna ional Broadcaster <br /> Idea Bank Convention; and, <br /> WHEREAS, it is the intention of the Cromwell Group, Inc. of II inois and Neuhoff <br /> Media to offer alcoholic beverages for sale to patrons for consum ion at this event; <br /> and, <br /> WHEREAS, such consumption of alcoholic liquor on East North Street between <br /> Water Street and State Street and East William Street between Water Street and State <br /> Street requires the express approval of the City Council; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Council finds that it would be in the best interest of Cromwell <br /> Group Inc. of Illinois, Neuhoff Media and of the City of Decatur that such consumption <br /> of alcoholic liquor as described be permitted for said limited time period. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That on the day listed herein, and only on such day, between the <br /> hours listed opposite of said day, alcoholic beverages may be consumed at, in or on <br /> East North Street between Water Street and State Street and E st William Street <br /> between Water Street and State Street, said day and hour being particularly described <br /> as follows: <br /> Sunday, May 5, 2013 5:00 p.m. — 9:0� p.m. <br /> Section 2. That no alcoholic beverage may be consumed s provided herein <br /> unless such alcoholic beverage is in a plastic or paper cup. <br /> Section 3. That this ordinance is expressly conditioned arid approved upon <br /> Cromwell Group, Inc. of Illinois and Neuhoff Media providing to the City of Decatur an <br /> agreement which will hold the City harmless for any and all damages incurred by <br /> persons attending this event and indemnifying the City for any an all damages and <br /> lawsuits. <br /> Section 4. That except as otherwise provided herein, the provisions of Section <br /> 34(A) of Chapter 52 of the City Code remain in full force and effect. <br />
