ORDINANCE NO. 2010-43 ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR ON PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY RODNEY T. MILLER LAKESIDE TRIAHLON WHEREAS, the Rodney T. Miller Lakeside Triathlon, a not-for-profit foundation, has planned a triathlon event in and around Lake Decatur and Nelson Park on Sunday, July 11, 2010; and, WHEREAS, it is the intention of the Rodney T. Miller Lakeside Triathlon organizers to offer beer for sale to its patrons for consumption following the event; and, WHEREAS, such consumption of alcoholic liquor on public right-of-way requires the express approval of the City Council; and, WHEREAS, the Council finds that it would be in the best interest of the Rodney T. Miller Lakeside Triathlon and of the City of Decatur that such consumption of alcoholic liquor as described be permitted for said limited time period. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That on Sunday, July 11, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., beer may be consumed in the fenced "beer garden/spectator village" located in the parking lot between the Lake Decatur Boat House and the Beach House Restaurant. Section 2. That no beer may be consumed as provided herein unless such beer is in a plastic or paper cup.
