ORDINANCE NO. 2008-46 ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING CONSUMPTION OF ILCOHOLIC LIQUOR ON PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY AND IN CEN�1'RAL PARK - DECATUR CELEBRATION - ; WHEREAS, the Decatur Celebration, a community summer fes�ival of games, shows and food, will be held on the public streets and in Central Park in dow�htown Decatur beginning Friday, August 1, 2008, and continuing through Sunday, August 3, 200�; and, WHEREAS, it is the intention of the Decatur Celebration to off�r the following alcoholic beverages: Budweiser, Bud Light, Bacardi Silver, Sutter Home w ne (various flavors) and Friday's Punch, for sale to its patrons for consumption at the Celebratio ; and, WHEREAS, such consumption of alcoholic liquor on public rigjhts-of-way and in Central Park requires the express approval of the City Council; and, WHEREAS, the Council finds that it would be in the bestl interest of the Decatur Celebration and of the City of Decatur that such consumption of alcoh�lic liquor as described be permitted for said limited time period. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY C{�UNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: , Section 1. That on the days listed herein, and only on such day , between the hours listed opposite each, the above named alcoholic beverages only may be co sumed at, in or on those portions of public rights-of-way described in Section 2 hereof, and i Central Park located in downtown Decatur, said days and hours being particularly described as follows: Friday, August 1, 2008 5:0 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. Saturday, August 2, 2008 12:OO�Noon - 11:00 p.m. Sunday, August 3, 2008 12:00��Noon - 9:30 p.m.
