� • ,,. , , � ORDINANCE NO. 2007-58 AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE USE OF GROUNDWATER AS A POTABLE WATER SUPPLY BY THE INSTALLATION OR USE OF POTABLE WATER SU�PLY WELLS OR BY ANY OTHER METHOD WITHIN A CERTAIN AREA IN THE CITY OF DECATUR WHEREAS, certain property within the City of Decatur, Illi is (the "City") located at 225 West Wood Street as noted on F,xhibit B, has been determined to�iave contaminated ground water within 25 feet of the service; and, � WHEREAS, concentrations of certain chemical constituents i the groundwater beneath the property located at 225 West Wood Street may exceed Class 1 gro�iiidwater quality standards for potable resource groundwater as set forth in 35 Illinois Adminish•ative Code 620; and, WHEREAS, the City desires to limit potential threats to huma health from groundwater �� contamination while facilitatin the continued roductive use of the r� ert located at 225 West I � P P P Y Wood Street. I NOW, THERI;FORE, BE IT ORDAINED, BY �l�-�E CITY C�OUNCIL OF "I�HE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. The use or attempt to use groundwater as a potable water supply from within the property legally described on Exhibit "A", attached hereto and ma�e a part of this Ordinance, by the installation or drilling of wells or by any other method is here y prohibited, including at points of withdrawal by the Crty.
