n ORDINANCE NO. 2006-23 ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY CODE - CHAPTER 60 - - TAXICABS AND TAXI DRIVERS - BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That Chapter 60 of the City Code of the City of Decatur, Illinois, be, and the same is hereby, amended and modified at Section 11, so that said Section 11 thereof, as amended, shall provide as follows: 11. REVOCATION OR SUSPENSION OF TAXI LICENSES. Taxi licenses may be revoked or suspended by the City Manager or his designee for violation of any of the provisions of this Chapter or for violation of any City of Decatur, state or federal regulations or laws either on the part of the owner of said taxicab or his employees. For every suspension or revocation of a taxi license, the City Manager or his designee shall issue a written notice, which shall be mailed via first class mail to the last known address of the owner, stating briefly the basis for the suspension or revocation, the effective date of the suspension or revocation, the duration of the suspension or revocation, and a notice, stating that, upon written request, filed with the City Clerk within ten (10) days of the date of the notice of suspension or revocation, for any suspension or revocation of taxi license exceeding three days duration, said suspension or revocation shall be appealable to the City Council.
