� • , . <br /> RESOLUTION NO. R2006-152 <br /> RESOLUTION SUPPORTING ST. MAR�"S HOSPITAL <br /> - COMPREHENSIVE REHABILITATION SERVICES - <br /> WHEREAS: St. Mary's Hospital proposes to operate a Comprehensive Inpatient <br /> Rehabilitation Facility Services (IRF); and, <br /> WHEREAS: the location of such facilities is important because these patients <br /> are mostly elderly and St. Mary's service area represents counties with a significant <br /> segment of the population being elderly; and, <br /> WHEREAS: St. Mary's services would be located in Decatur in the state"s <br /> Health Service Planning Area that includes 16 counties with other facilities located in <br /> Normal, Springfield; and Urbana; and, <br /> WHEREAS: St. Mary's Hospital is the only comprehensive mental health <br /> provider in the area and will integrate its extensive mental health services with its <br /> comprehensive rehabilitation services; and, <br /> WHEREAS: the residents of Decatur and Macon County do not have adequate <br /> access and availability of this standard of inedicine and patient support from family and <br /> friends and close proximity to their family is critical in maximizing the patient's return of <br /> quality of life. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> Section l. That the City of Decatur wishes to express its full support for the <br /> locat;on of a Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Services on the campus of <br /> St. Mary's Hospital; and be it further resolved that th� City Clerk is autharized and <br /> directed to for•�vard a cony of this resolution to the Chief Executive Office of St. Mary's <br /> Huspital. <br /> PRESENTFD and.
