That the following sums be , and they are <br /> hereby appropriated for the corporate purposes , expenses and <br /> lawful charges of the City of Decatur, Illinois , for the fiscal <br /> year of 1986-1987, beginning on May 1 , 1986 and ending on April <br /> 30 , 1987, said sums to be provided for from the general revenue <br /> of the City and by general taxation under the Statutes of the <br /> State of Illinois pertaining thereto: <br /> SPECIAL FUND APPROPRIATIONS <br /> For the Maintenance of Public Library and I�I <br /> Reading Rooms , to be known as the Library I <br /> Fund $ 1 , 996 ,021 <br /> For Police Pension, as required by law 785 , 096 <br /> For Firemen ' s Pension, as required by law 971 , 452 <br /> For the purpose of Police Protection in the <br /> City of Decatur , Illinois , to pay salaries <br /> to 33 Police 600, 000 <br /> For work of the Historical and Architectural <br /> Sites Commission for municipal purposes 14, 728 <br /> For employment of a Municipal Band for <br /> municipal purposes 55 , 858 <br /> For street purposes pursuant to an Act of <br /> the General Assembly, entitled, "An Act <br /> in Relation to tax levies for street and <br /> bridge purposes by Cities , Villages and <br /> Incorporated Towns as reduced or abated <br /> by the County Clerk by a rate equivalent <br /> to the amount of road and bridge tax <br /> accruing to such City of Decatur in <br /> accordance with section 6-507 of the <br /> ' Illinois Highway Code ' , " for street <br /> construction 350 , 000 <br /> Public Benefit Fund 135 , 041 <br />
