� �. . �.� �t ,;, '` ` ORDINANCE N0 . ��- �� '-;``��"'��'�D ORDINANCE ADOPTING BUILDING CODE AND REGULATING BUILDINGS AND CERTAIN ACTIVITIES IN CONNECTION THEREWITH AND MODIFYING INCONSISTENT ORDINANCE PROVISIONS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS : Section l . This Ordinance shall be known, and may be ciwed as "The Building Ordinance" of the City, and shall have , alor.g with the Code adopted hereby, the scope and applicability set ou� in said Code , except as modified by the provisions of tiiis Ordinance . Section 2 . The same having been duly placed and remained on file as required by law, and subject to the additions , mc�difications , changes ar deletions set out in this ordinance , the BOCA Basic/National Building Code/1984 of Building �Jfficials an�i Ccde Administrators , International , Inc . , the same being found ar.d declared by the Council Lo be regulations as defined by applicable statute , is hereby adopted by re�erence , effectiJe September 17 , 1984 , the same to be hnown, and which may be cited , as "The Building Code" of the City, and which shall have the scope and applicability as there�n set out , except as modified by the provisions of this ordinance . Section 3 . Wherever in said Code the w�rds , "name of jurisdiction" appear in brackets , said Code is modified by removal of said brackets and substitution of the words "the City of �Jecatur , Illinoi� , " in lieu of the w�rds contained therein,
