' �, <br /> AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TERRITORY TO THE ' ��B'' <br /> CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS � .pQ Ch �rap� <br /> WHEREAS , there having been filed with the City Clerk, and <br /> by said Clerk presented to the Council herewith, the petition <br /> under oath of PZILFORD E. SMITH and JOAN B. SMITH, requesting that <br /> there be annexed to the City territory described as : <br /> The North 200 feet of the following: The East Half <br /> of the Southeast 1/4 of the Northwest 1/4 of Section <br /> 28, Township 16 North, Range 2 East of the 3rd P.M. <br /> EXCEPT the Plorth 436 feet and EXCEPT the South 220 <br /> feet thereof; and, <br /> WfiEREAS , it appears said petition is signed by the owners of <br /> record of all land within such territory and by at least 51% of <br /> the electors residing therein, and that said territory is contiguous <br /> to the City and not within the corporate lir.iits of any City, Village <br /> or Incorporated Town or other nunicipality; and, <br /> WHEREAS , notice of intention to take action f_or annexation <br /> has been given as required. . <br /> N041, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS : <br /> Section 1. That said petition and the request thereof be, <br /> and the same are hereby, approved. <br /> Section 2. That said territory hereinabove described, along <br /> with all parts of public highc�ays therein or next and adjacent <br /> thereto not heretofore annexed, if any, be, and the same are hereby, <br /> annexed to and are incorporated into the limits of the City of <br /> Decatur, Illinois , a municipal corporation. <br /> Section 3. That a plat of said annexed nremises is attached <br /> hereto and made a part hereof. <br /> Section 4.
