ORD INANCE NO. �-.� AN ORDINANCE ABATING A PORTION OF THE TAXES LEVIED IN AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DECATUR ADOPTED FEBRUARY 25 , 1982 , AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF $10,750, 000 GENERAL OBLIGATION SURFACE WATER DRAINAGE SYSTEM BONDS, SERIES OF 1982 , TO PAY PRINCIPAL t�F AND INTEREST ON SAID BONDS AND RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING THE OFFICIAL STATEMENT RELATING THERETO WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Decatur, Macon County, Illinois, did adopt on February 25 , 1982 , an ordinance providing for the issuance of $10,750,000 General Obligation Surface Water Drainage System Bonds , Series of 1982 , and in Section 4 of said ordinance did levy taxes on all taxable property within said City sufficient to pay the prznc�pal of and interest on said bonds as it becomes due; and, WHEREAS , it is desirable and for the best interest of said City that a portion of the taxes levied in Section 4 of said ordinance to pay principal and interest on said bonds be abated; and, WHEREAS, several rev�csions have been made to the Official Statement presented to this Council and approved pursuant to said bond ordinance adopted on February 25, 1982 , and it is desirable to ratify and confirm such Official Statement as so revised.
