r � <br /> �' , � JI�C��O� <br /> • 1 <br /> ORDINANCE N0. ���> <br /> ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE DECATUR HISTORIC DISTRICT <br /> AND DECLARING CERTAIN SITES AND STRUCTURES AS <br /> HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL LAND�IARKS <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS : <br /> Section 1. This Ordinance shall be known and may be cited as <br /> "The Historical and Architectural Designation Ordinance" . <br /> Section 2 . The purpose of this Ordinance is to officially <br /> designate and recognize pursuant to the provisions of Division 48 . 2 <br /> of Article 11 of the Illinois Municipal Code, areas , places , build- <br /> ings , structures , works of art and other objects located within the <br /> City of Decatur, Illinois having a special historical , architectural , <br /> community, cultural or aesthetic interest or value . <br /> Section 3 . There is hereby established for the purposes herein- <br /> abave described the Decatur Historic District bounded on the North <br /> by Eldorado Street, on the West by Oakland Avenue, on the South by <br /> Lincoln Park Drive and on the East by Church Street and Church Str.eet <br /> extznded tc the south to a point of intersection with Lincoln Park <br /> Drive, witn.in the boundaries of which Decatur Historic District lie <br /> those lands described in the nominaticn papers of sites of archi- <br /> tectural and historical significance filed with the National Register <br /> of Historical Places . <br /> Section 4 .
