That th� City Code b�, and it is her�by, anended at <br /> Section 2 fn Ghapter 5 th�r�of so that said Section as so amended shall <br /> provide as follows: <br /> 2. The City Manager shall have the power and authority <br /> to appoint and renove all chiefs and directors of depart- <br /> nents, assi�tant chief� and assistant or deputy directar s <br /> of departaeat�, fire narshalls, police cadets, police <br /> officer� above th� ra�nk �f lieutenant, administrative <br /> assi�taats, superintendeats of building inspections and <br /> of str�ets and sewers, one secretary of the eity �anagex <br /> and one of �ach d�part�ent director, members of the legal <br /> depaYt�ent, coordi�ator� of the office oa aging and of <br /> co�aity programs, di.rectors of urban rene�al projects, <br /> snpervisors of accounting, chief planneYs, city engineers, <br /> and temporary and s�asonal employees. <br /> Section 2. That in the event any position specified in said amended <br /> Secticn 2, as set out in Section 1 of this ordinance, is currently <br /> occupied by a person certified and appoint�d under the provisioa� of the <br /> Illinois Civil Service Law For Cities, said position �hall be and re�ain <br /> subject to the provisions of �aid statute until the same is vacated by <br /> said person, r�e=eupon said position shall cease to be subject tc the <br /> provisions of statute and the provisions of said amended Section 2 shall <br /> become and be applicable theretc. <br /> Section 3. That the City Code be, and it is hereby, amended at <br /> Section 12 of Chapt�r 5 the reof so that said Section as so amended shall <br /> provide as followsa <br />
